My G-G-Grandfather Thomas Wagnon came to Arkansas Territory, around the Lincoln-Cane Hill area, around 1800. He had the first grist mill in this area.{actually a stump and morter system] In 1823 he was in Lovely County, Arkansas Territory. Which streached from the Verdigris River by Tulsa Ok. to the eastern side of Fayetteville Ar.  There is an account of him shooting buffalo some where in that area. In 1827 he signed the Nicks-Gibson papers. Which was a goverment removal of all white folk to establish the Indian Territory. He was awarded 320 acres of land in Arkansas. He settled in an area known as The Illinois Township. To the best of my knowledge it is around Cincinnati, Ar. [about 10 miles south of Siloam Springs, Ar.on Hwy 59]  I hold a strong love for my home state because of my Grandda being a part of the history. My family and me do living history events all over the county. We do everything from French and Indian War to The Mexican War.We have been a part of Ft. Gibson for around 10-12 years. I like to portray my Grandda when ever I can, because its a part of history for me that I can bring to life.
