John's Bio
By: John Morrow
I started partaking in Living History as a reenactor with the 4th MO, Co E, over 10 years ago. I then became an interpreter with Arkansas State Parks and learned I could get paid to have fun! I have created a number of characters for interpretive programs over the last 8 years.
Besides doing demonstration 3rd person programming about the Civil War, I have created the following first person characters:
- The Private in the CSA
- John Walker, first white settler on Petit Jean Mountain
- John Mason, 1820's Arkansas River traveler, surveyor and general opportunist
- Joseph Martin, 1934 moonshiner and opportunist
I am now serving as the Chief Interpreter at Historic Washington State Park. In this position I get several "bit parts" at different events and programs throughout the year. I am a Certified Interpretive Trainer through NAI, have conducted several training sessions, and encourage all living historians to apply good, sound interpretive techniques to their presentations. I am also serving as the current Vice President of ALHA. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
