GOOD DAY!
By: Debra  Browning
My family and I have been involved with living history interpretation for the past 17 years.  It is a family hobby that has taken over our everyday life and home.  In 2001/2002 I began doing contract historic reproduction clothing construction work for Curtis Tate with The Arkansas Territorial Restoration. In 2003 I contracted with the Historic Arkansas Museum to construct textile loan  boxes and educational programming props for their Packing to Go program.   In Sept. 2003 I was hired by Starr Mitchell at the Historic Arkansas Museum as costume coordinator/education program part-time assistant for 3 years.  I was also hired by Starr Mitchell as a living history actor on contract for 1 1/2 years.   I am a founding member of the Early Arkansas Reenactors Assoc. and served proudly on it's Board for it's first 10 years of existence.  I am a member of the American Bladesmith Society, Coalition of Historical Trekkers, and ALHFAM. I am currently treasurer of your Arkansas Living History Association.  I am a co-owner of History Helpers, an organization formed by my associates and myself to "bring history alive".  We do educational historical programming for schools, museums, state and national parks.  We also consult with these organizations concerning establishing their own programs as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd person living history interpretation.   I have a well stocked research library and collection of historical clothing patterns.  I am available for historical costuming construction and willing to help all members of ALHA in whatever manner needed.  I find living history interpretation to be very rewarding and an educational medium for any topic to any age group.  History is in all of us, through living history interpretation we prove this everyday.  Good Day! I am Debra Browning.
